For your child or teenager
Support that fits the person in front of me.
Sessions for children, young people and families, shaped around age, confidence and how they like to communicate.
A gentle way in
Children and young people do not always want to talk in the way adults do. That is fine. Sessions can include conversation, play, drawing or simply sitting together until something useful finds its way out.
Parents and carers are part of the work, in a way that respects the child's privacy. I will be clear with you about confidentiality, and about the times when I would need to share information to keep someone safe.
EMDR for children and teenagers
I am trained in EMDR child therapy and work with children aged 10 and above. EMDR can gently help young people process a difficult or frightening experience so it no longer feels overwhelming.
Practical arrangements
Appointments are Monday to Wednesday 9:30am to 7:30pm, and Thursday 9:30am to 12:30pm, so there are after-school and evening slots available. Online sessions via Teams can work well for some older children and teenagers.
Counselling is £55 for 60 minutes. If you are not sure this is the right support, we can start with a free assessment call — often that first conversation is with a parent or carer.
I didn't really want to talk at first. Then I did, and it was okay.— Year 5 pupil
She didn't make me say things. It felt like I could take my time.— Year 6 pupil
As a parent I felt included, without the sessions becoming about me.— Parent
