Self-harm can be a way of coping with deep emotions or situations that are difficult to deal with. Seeing a counsellor can help as your voice will be heard, supporting you as your inner turmoil is reflected upon. You will not be judged for your actions, but helped to explore issues that you carry in a safe place.
Some people who self-harm can feel in a lonely place, a counsellor will be with you in that difficult place, giving you support and strength to face your unbearable distress.
